Dominic's First Day of Preschool

Today was Dominic's first day of preschool at St. Patrick's Catholic School in Parsons.
He was so excited and a little nervous. His first day of school outfit changed though since it was so cool out. Luckily he had some new pants to wear.

I think he had a good time. He came bounding down the steps of the school with his backpack bouncing, excitedly saying, "Mommy!". He was excited to tell me that they read "The Kissing Hand". When I asked him what his favorite part was he said snack time and recess. Then he added Aidan's birthday and something about Spongebob and cupcakes. He was very proud to open his folder and show me his work that he did. He said that he played monsters with the three boys at recess and swung on the swings.
It sounds like he will do great!
Let's hope he takes after his mother and not his dad, who got kicked out of preschool!

Jude Turns 3!

For Jude's birthday, we just had his Godparents over for Brats and cupcakes. They had fun playing trains with Bill.

And he got a Cars fishing game and some fun socks, which he loves!!

He is such a delicate gift opener.

He got 2 trains from Dominic and Cecilia; Charlie and Victor.

A great birthday complete with the Birthday song, Ricke style!

Another Family Party

On August 14 we went to Grandma and Papa's house to celebrate all 6 of the August birthdays, including Dominic and Jude's. It was almost like Christmas.

That afternoon we took a trip to the Hillsboro pool with Lisa, Melissa and all of the kiddos.

For some reason this one got cut off, but the boys loved playing with Josie in the fountains

Family Party

August 8 we had a little party to celebrate both Jude and Dominic's birthdays. Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Tracy were here to help us celebrate.
Jude checks out his new Car's pencil.

Here they are excited about their new sleeping bags from G-ma and G-pa.
Daddy made them hide their eyes while he wheeled out their present from us...Can you guess what it is?
Here's a hint: Aunt Tracy got them helmets
They also got bubble bath
and Thomas Pez dispenser (actually this is James, his friend)
Jude, our cheeser

Trying out the sleeping bag.
Aunt Tracy makes them pose with all the presents she got them. He can't even hold them all!

Instead of cake we had brownies and homemade strawberry ice cream.

Their new bikes from us! A big hit!

We ordered their bikes from Toys R Us and when we received them, one of the boxes was damaged. So when Adam went to put it together, of course the bike was damaged as well. Thus we only had one bike to give to two boys. I was so excited to see their reaction when we wheeled out the bike and this is what we got...

Dominic Turns 4!

I woke Dominic up at 6:30 a.m. after being out late the night before at the TEC hoot, so that he could see his picture on TV. I don't think he was too thrilled. He didn't really have a reaction when he saw himself. The picture proves that he was still half asleep.

And here's the video of him watching it. Not too exciting!

Party hats!

By that evening, when Daddy got home, he was in a much better mood. We celebrated by having his favorite meal: hot dogs and cupcakes with sprinkles. He even got a new train from Jude and Cecilia. He is so proud of his Duncan.
And don't think that his parents forgot about him. Since he and Jude were getting the same thing we decided to wait and give them their presents together at the same time.

MOPS Picnic

Shortly after Jude was born I began attending a MOPS group in Parsons. It has been great for both me and the kids. We only meet during the school year, but over the summer we have a picnic. They had the train open for all of our preschoolers to ride on.
The boys rode every time around for about an hour and a half, despite the 1oo degree temperatures.

Oh, if only we had a train in our backyard...then I might get some things done around the house!
